UCI Continental teams
Britain had six men’s UCI Continental teams in 2019 and none at all in 2025, after Saint Piran and TRINITY Racing closed at the end of 2024. The INEOS Grenadiers Racing Academy restored one for 2026. RideRevolution Coaching CT intend to step up in 2028 and will treat 2027 as a transition year (see below), but no other British men’s team has announced a move to Continental level for next season. UCI registrations for 2027 are confirmed in December.
INEOS Grenadiers Racing Academy
The development squad of the WorldTeam now racing as Netcompany INEOS, launched for 2026 and overseen by director of racing Geraint Thomas. It holds a British-registered UCI Continental licence, the first since 2024, and mixes British riders with an international intake. Mattie Dodd has been writing about its first season in his journal for us.
Neither of the 2027 moves below has yet been confirmed by the team. Daniel Benson reported on 29 September that Kash Adamski, an American, is joining from Hot Tubes, the US junior team INEOS works with, and that Nicolas Milesi is leaving for EF Education-EasyPost.

Elite teams
Eight men’s teams held British Cycling Elite Development Team status in 2026: BCC Race Team, Cycling Sheffield, DAS Richardsons, JAKROO Handsling Racing, O’Neills Spirit Racing Team, Stolen Goat 4Endurance, Team PB Performance and Wheelbase CabTech Castelli. The 2027 list has not yet been announced.
BCC–MyPad
BCC Race Team, the Midlands Elite Development Team at the top of Bryan Steel’s youth-to-elite pathway, will merge with MyPad Racing p/b ONDO Sports and race as BCC–MyPad in 2027. MyPad was set up by Ewan Mackie and Lucas Jowett ahead of the 2025 season as ‘ad-hoc racing’, offering British riders UCI race days abroad with no fixed commitment. The merged team will build its season around the National Road Series and add UCI races abroad, and Mackie, who won a stage of the Tour of Kosovo in 2025, will both ride for it and help run it.
The two teams were already working together this season. Jowett won the season-opening East Cleveland Classic in MyPad colours, and Lewis Tinsley, who came up through BCC’s ranks, won the under-23 classification of the open National Road Series. The 2027 roster is set at 14, mostly drawn from this year’s BCC squad with a number of more experienced additions, and team president John McCay is aiming to win or reach the podium in half the National Road Series races next season. Only Mackie has been named so far.
Read about BCC’s pathway here, and George Stephen’s journal from inside the team here.
Ryan Williams has left after two seasons, having come to the team from BCC Race Team, and Denholm Edwards has joined the French N3 club VCA Saint-Quentin. Nothing else has been announced for 2027. Read about Joshua Horsfield’s season with the team here.
The academy of the West Midlands club runs under-23 and junior squads, and in 2026 the under-23 programme centred on Rás Mumhan, the national under-23 series and race trips to France and Belgium. Its first three signings for 2027 cover both squads. James Bacon, 19, arrives from TAAP Kalas after finishing third at the Chas Messenger Trophy in September, and Ben Alliston and Joel Davidson, both 16, step up within the club to the junior squad. Alliston raced as a Youth A this season.

Moonglu Spatzwear RT
Founded as a pathway from Moonglu Cycling Club, the Yorkshire team slimmed down to nine riders for 2026, targeting the National Road Series alongside a selective National B programme. Its first move for next season came early: Joe Shillabeer joined with immediate effect on 5 October, after a season racing unattached in which he was third at the Otley Grand Prix and fourth in the Scottish road race championship. He rode for Spectra Racing in 2024 and 2025.

Jake Hales’s team, founded in 2023 and funded internally, intend to race at UCI Continental level in 2028, and 2027 is the step in between. The plan is a new top tier of around 10 riders, supported as close to full-time as the team can manage and recruited to sit above the existing squad, with an expanded UCI and international calendar. Hales has said riders including Clay Davies, Josh Housley, Harry Macfarlane and James Ambrose-Parish would continue in a second tier, still riding the major races, while the rest of the squad would race mostly National B events and selected National Circuit Series rounds.
The team were top of The British Continental’s open team rankings when the plan was announced in August, and had turned down four or five UCI stage races this season because they could not field enough riders. No 2027 signings have been announced.
Rider-led and completing their 11th season, TAAP are among the longest-standing National B squads in the country, with riders taking on the management roles themselves. Their calendar mixes National B road races, selected National Series events and local criteriums with Irish stage races and Belgian kermesses. James Bacon, one of six signings for 2026, has left for Halesowen A & CC.

Flavio Zappi’s academy has run since 2009. It is affiliated to British Cycling but based in Italy, where its riders spend the season, and recruitment works by application: riders write in, and a few of them get a year in Tuscany. Six riders are confirmed for 2027 so far, three arriving and three staying. Ben Archer, a New Zealand junior, comes from the development arm of MitoQ / NZ Cycling Project; Jody Mills steps up from Zappi’s own junior team; and Thayer Ask, 19 and American, arrives from university racing with the University of Nottingham Cycling Club. Otis Jones, Seb Zajaczkowski and Finn Slade stay on. Recruitment was still open at the last update.

Junior teams
camsmajaco
The mixed-gender junior team formed for 2026 by the merger of Fensham Howes–MAS Design and Tofauti Everyone Active Majaco, led by Ian Mansel-Thomas and Giles Pidcock, with backing from the INEOS WorldTeam and a heavily international calendar. Its first season was overshadowed by the death of Shane O’Brien, the 16-year-old from Fermoy, Co Cork, in a crash while training in June. Only the junior men are covered here; the junior women are in our women’s guide.
The 2027 junior men’s squad is eight riders. Milo and Sam de la Mare, the team’s most consistent stage racers this summer, and Daniel Davies stay on as second-year juniors, and five riders step up from youth racing, three of them as national champions: Finlay Burns, Alex Goodwill and Tom Lane, the Irish under-16 champion. All seven riders leaving were born in 2008 and move up to the under-23 ranks. Leon Atkins, the junior national time trial champion, joins Lidl–Trek Future Racing; the other six have not yet said where they are going.
Read our interview with Leon Atkins here, and Ian Mansel-Thomas’s journal on why 16 is too young to sign for a European team here.
The Yorkshire club team whose Harry Hudson won the junior world road race title in Rwanda in 2025, the first by a British junior man, and whose Daniel Thompson won the individual pursuit at this year’s junior track world championships. Manager Michael Cross describes it simply: “We’re still a club at heart.”
The team named a ten-rider junior squad for 2027 on 11 October, half of it new. Andrew Levinson and Arthur Sleightholm arrive from Shibden Apex RT, Thomas Hutchinson and Daniel Minay from the Manx team Team RL360 Isle of Man, and Asher Gray from Team Ohten. Minay, the team says, finished second in the national rankings this year and rode well at the Assen Youth Tour. Alex Box, Finley Hudson, Alfie Nott, Archie Whittemore and Freddie Winkley stay on, and the squad graphic describes Harrogate Nova as associated with the NSN Development Team.

Watts Occurring Racing
A new junior team for 2027, set up by Maindy Flyers, the Cardiff club where Geraint Thomas and Luke Rowe learned to race, and named after the pair’s podcast. Both are backing it, though neither will be involved day to day. Six riders have been chosen from around 20 applicants, four of them from Maindy, and the team has begun naming them one at a time. Harry Cooper, from Beeston CC, is the first. Deian Jones manages the team and Matt Rowe coaches it, and the programme is built on the Junior Open National Road Series with as much European racing as invitations and budget allow. Uprise Bikes is the main sponsor, and club chair Mike Richards says it will not be a pay-to-ride team.
