Team Tactic U23 joins the British scene with a focus on rider development
Newly formed for 2026, Team Tactic U23 will target the British National and U23 Series alongside select European races, offering young riders kit, team-car support, and a pressure-free environment focused on long-term development.
A new name will appear on the British domestic scene in 2026. Team Tactic U23 is a British under-23 development team set up to bridge the gap between junior and elite racing — and to keep more young riders in the sport beyond the age of 18.
“The mission is simply to offer opportunities to U23 riders who don’t currently have a team,” a team spokesperson told The British Continental. “We are staying small for 2026, with six riders, to ensure we meet the needs of the riders. We want to stay under-23 for now as more and more riders find themselves without a team, and we feel it’s important to keep young riders in the sport post-18.”
Although the team itself is new, it brings together a group with significant experience. As the team states on its Facebook page, “We may be new but between us we have years of cycle racing experience including a DS who spent the last three years building and developing a very successful U23 team.”
That experience underpins an approach built around structure and support rather than pressure. “For the first year we will aim to provide kit, bottles, team car, DS, mechanic and road side support,” the spokesperson explains. “Riders will receive kit from Tactic Sport UK, a full race program including European trips and races, team car support at all British National Series races. We will aim for a training camp in Girona, where the Tactic factory is based followed by a full season of British and European racing.”

The team says its 2026 calendar will centre on the British National Series and British U23 Series, complemented by at least two trips abroad. It says that a friendly, supportive environment is a core part of the offer, designed to help each rider develop at their own pace.
“Our aim is to grow with the riders,” the spokesperson adds. “Rider development is the key thing here, offering a friendly, no pressure environment to allow the growth of young riders both on and off the bike.
Could the team expand in the future? The team says it could “potentially register as a UCI Conti team” at some stage but adds the qualifier, “let’s just take one step at a time.”
