Kate Richardson and Handsling Alba Development Road Team turned strength in numbers into victory, splitting the women’s Tour of the Reservoir early before Richardson attacked alone on the tailwind run towards Consett, Sunday 7 June
The Tour of the Reservoir returns to the moorland above Derwent Reservoir this Sunday on a revised, more compact course but the same old North Pennines jeopardy: exposed roads, restless winds, repeated climbs and two National Road Series races that could splinter long before they reach Front Street.
The Solihull CC road race returns on 5 July as round three of the British Women’s Team Cup, with riders facing a harder new finish on the Ridgeway near Cookhill after the traditional Gooms Hill finale was replaced.
Luca Nicholson won the Eastern Road Championship in Barking on Sunday, attacking over the top of a four-man front group on the final ascent of Willisham Hill and holding off a fast-closing Callum Laborde by a few metres.
