Domestic
CAMS Alba have added their last two riders for 2027. Phoebe Taylor (Shibden Apex RT to CAMS Alba, confirmed 22 October) is the fourth rider from Shibden Apex RT’s women’s team, which closes at the end of the year, to name a 2027 team, and the second to join Alba after Mabli Phillips. Taylor, 18, was in the Great Britain squad that won the European and world junior team pursuit titles in 2025, with Evie Smith and Arabella Blackburn. Blackburn, also a former Shibden rider, is staying with Alba. This year Taylor was second overall at the Ronde van Wymeswold, one place ahead of Phillips, and fourth at the Capernwray Road Race. “I am looking forward to racing at a higher level and gaining experience with Alba, while continuing my development as a rider,” she said.
Awen Roberts (Canyon//SRAM zondacrypto Generation to CAMS Alba, confirmed 23 October) is, the team says, the last rider it will add for 2027. Roberts, 21, from Carmarthenshire, has spent three seasons with Canyon//SRAM zondacrypto Generation. This year she won the second stage of the Peak 2 Day, was second in the under-23 national time trial and third at the Curlew Cup, behind Nicola Quaye and Blackburn. “I’m looking forward to developing further in a new environment and to race with my new teammates,” she said. Read our Getting to know interview with her from January.
That completes a 15-rider squad: nine staying and six new. Kate Richardson, the national circuit champion in 2025, who has ridden for Alba for the past two seasons, is not in it. The full line-up is in our women’s team guide.
Teniel Campbell (Smurfit Westrock Cycling Team, staying, confirmed 22 October) is the fourth rider Smurfit Westrock have kept for 2027, after Amelia Cebak, Lidia Cusack and Jo Tindley. The Trinidad and Tobago rider, 29, joined the team late in 2025 and left at the end of that season, but was back in its line-up at the Tour of Britain Women in August. She won both national titles this year, the team says, and took silver in the road race and bronze in the time trial at the Central American and Caribbean Games. Campbell won two silver medals at the 2019 Pan American Games, rode the Tokyo Olympics and spent four seasons with Team BikeExchange.
Yilla Threels (O’Shea Red Chilli Bikes to Team Avesnois, confirmed 23 October), the 22-year-old Dutch rider, leaves Pat Hayes’s team after two seasons for a French club team, which calls her the final signing of its 2027 squad. Team Avesnois says she will bring experience and lead by example as a teammate, while also getting her chance in the races that suit her best. She also races on the track, and last November rode the Copenhagen three-day with her O’Shea teammate Isabella Escalera. She is the sixth rider to leave O’Shea for 2027.
Stolen Goat 4Endurance have rebuilt around under-23s for 2027, as team manager Simon Jodrell explained in our exclusive on Friday. Matt Gilmour (Nopinz RT), second at the Portsdown Classic in February, joins with Bobby Buenfeld (Aero CLCTV), Milo Clarke and Isaac Dutton (both VC Londres) and Jack Sutton (La Vetta CC). Hugh Aubrey, Mohammad Ganjkhanlou and Huw Watkins stay, making an eight-rider squad of seven under-23s and Ganjkhanlou, who is 29. Alex Murphy, who beat Gilmour at Portsdown and finished sixth in our national rankings, moves on, as do Jack Bartholomew, Reuben Dando and Daniel Piercy, and Ben Goodwin, the 2025 Welsh time trial champion, steps back from full-time racing. Ross Fawcett and Oliver Hurdle will still race in the team’s jersey, outside the Elite Development Team squad. All were confirmed on 23 October.
Simon Alexander (DAS Richardsons, leaving, confirmed 23 October) is leaving the team after 14 seasons. He joined in 2013, aged 19, and says the National Hill Climb Championships on 25 October will be his last race in its orange jersey, “barring any CX races”. He counts 33 wins in that time, about 60 teammates and a spell as part-time assistant to the DS and mechanic. “Our team was my place where I fitted in,” he wrote. He is not retiring, he says, but has not said where he will race in 2027. This season he was fifth at the Portsdown Classic in February. DAS Richardsons are now in our men’s team guide.
Solas Race Team have named three more riders for their Development Team, which now has six confirmed for 2027 with Harriet Hendry, Isla Easto and Jess Bufton. Kasey Park (Solas Race Team, staying, confirmed 22 October), 18, moves out of the junior ranks next season. Millie Thomson (Solas Race Team, staying, confirmed 23 October), 20, has ridden for Solas since 2024, and this year won the Torvelo Women’s Road Race and was fifth in the BUCS road race championship. Nina Padmanabhan (Solas Race Team, staying, confirmed 24 October), 18, was 15th at Torvelo and 11th at the Scottish road race championships in August.
