Exclusive: new women’s U23 development team puts European calendar in crosshairs for 2024 debut

New team will emphasise a European race programme and is still open to applications

The British Continental has learned exclusive details about the new women’s under-23 development team that will launch in 2024.

The newly formed development team will focus on European racing, participating in a mix of one-day events and stage races. A number of UCI events are earmarked, notably Paris-Roubaix U23 and the Watersley Challenge. Beyond these, elite races in Belgium, the Netherlands, and France are on their radar. Additionally, the team participate in prominent races in the United Kingdom, such as the National Road Series rounds in Lincoln, Lancaster, and Ryedale.

Since the curtains lifted on this new project at September’s end, the team has attracted a spectrum of talent, from young domestic riders to international riders with WorldTour race experience.

Riders keen to join this venture have until the end of October to throw their hat in the ring, after which time the team’s management will make final decisions regarding the makeup of its inaugural squad. Interested riders can use the form on the team’s website here to inquire about applications.
