Nocturne to return to the City of London in June 2027

The Nocturne will be back in the Square Mile on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 June 2027, organisers have confirmed, a year after the event returned from an eight-year absence.

The Nocturne will return to the City of London on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 June 2027, organisers confirmed on Saturday, securing a second edition of the revived event that brought floodlit criterium racing back to the capital this summer.

The dates were announced in a save-the-date post on the event’s Instagram account and now appear on its website, where readers can register for updates. Nothing further has been confirmed: the race programme, the circuit, and the status of the elite races are all still to be announced.

The dates fall on a Friday and Saturday, as they did this year, when the City of London Nocturne ran over two days on 12 and 13 June. Friday was given over to the GOSH City Criterium, a charity pro-am, before Saturday’s support and novelty races built towards UCI-registered elite women’s and men’s criteriums on a 1.3-kilometre circuit through Cheapside and Bank.

That was the Nocturne’s first edition since 2018. Nina Lavenu (AG Insurance Soudal Development Team) and Matt Bostock (Rapha CC) won the elite races, which were broadcast on TNT Sports and counted towards the Rapha Super-League. Writing for The British Continental afterwards, Jack Beavis argued that the night showed what the domestic scene can still be.

Organiser James Pope signalled at the time that a return was the intention. In comments carried by City AM after the event, he said he was “excited to develop the concept for next year and for many years to come”.
