The Road to Glory
The Rás Tailteann is a brutal test of endurance and strategy, featuring eight days of relentless racing across Ireland’s challenging terrain. Jackson’s ability to navigate each stage, protect his yellow jersey, and stay calm under pressure set him apart.
“Every day I was in yellow, there were moments where I was not still leading the race. Each day my teammates were always there pulling breaks back and managing gaps to keep us in contention,” Jackson said, highlighting the vital role his team played in his success.
The race also fostered a unique dynamic within the peloton, where close time gaps meant that rivals worked together to keep the race alive. Jackson reflected: “To have your fiercest competition working with you truly makes you appreciate everyone in the peloton.”
Impact Beyond the Race
Jackson’s win wasn’t just a personal triumph—it also propelled his team, Foran CT, into the spotlight. The victory brought national and international recognition to the team, shining a positive light on British cycling during a challenging period for the sport. “That win has launched Foran CT forward. With national and international press coverage, it is an incredible feeling being part of one of the few success stories at the moment,” Jackson explains.
The win has also left a lasting impact on Jackson personally, solidifying his love for the sport. “Winning the Rás has genuinely been a pipe dream. It has cemented my love for cycling, and for those around me.”

Looking to the Future
As Jackson reflects on his year, he recognises the challenges ahead. Having dedicated himself fully to cycling in 2024, he is now exploring how to balance his passion with the realities of life outside the sport.
“For the last year, I had promised myself I was going to put everything into cycling,” Jackson says. “I am absolutely delighted to have been true to that. For me in 2025, that just isn’t sustainable without cycling being my profession. I am currently in the process of finding a ‘grown-up’ job. But I am loving playing a key role enabling the next wave of talent, especially at Foran CT, to shine.”
