Two more British teams confirmed for 70th Rás Tailteann
Two more British teams - DAS Richardsons and a Great Britain squad marking its first appearance since 2013 - are set to join a strong British contingent at the 70th Rás Tailteann.
The Rás Tailteann continues to bolster its lineup for the landmark 70th edition, with British teams DAS Richardsons and the Great Britain National Team now confirmed for Ireland’s revered stage race, set to run from May 21–25. This announcement builds on the previous news confirming three British teams -Cycling Club Isle of Man, Ride Revolution Coaching, and TAAP Kalas – for the event, further strengthening the UK’s representation in this landmark edition of the race.
DAS Richardsons returns for their third tilt at the Rás, aiming to replicate and build upon their recent strong performances. The squad, distinguished by consecutive stints in the yellow jersey in 2023 and 2024, fields a blend of seasoned campaigners. Alex Peters, who famously donned the leader’s jersey back in 2014, and Will Perrett, a top-five finisher last year, headline the selection. Team manager Andy Lyons described the event as “a highlight of our season,” underscoring the ambition and respect they carry into the Irish showdown.

Meanwhile, the Great Britain National Team marks a significant return after a lengthy absence. Managed by former professional Ben Greenwood, this youthful yet decorated team includes current Scratch Race World Champion Will Tidball alongside track standouts Josh Charlton and Rhys Britton. Greenwood’s stated goal—“to be competitive across all stages and classifications” – signals clear intent for a meaningful return. The last appearance by Great Britain was in 2013, featuring riders Simon Yates and Owain Doull, both of whom went on to distinguished professional careers. Interestingly, Greenwood also competed in that edition. Riding for Team IG – Sigma Sport, he finished 12th overall.
