From Thriva to Muc-Off: Scott Redding Cycling Team evolves with new signings and expanded calendar
With new sponsors, a fresh identity, and an ambitious race calendar spanning the UK, France, and the USA, the team is blending proven talent with exciting new recruits
The Scott Redding Cycling Team, established ahead of the 2022 season, begins its fourth year with a new name and a broadened programme. Thriva-SRCT has become Muc-Off-SRCT-Storck, a rebrand that reflects both continuity and ambition for the team as it prepares for 2025.
Speaking to The British Continental, team manager Adam Ellis acknowledged the difficulties of the past few months. “This winter has been a real struggle to find sponsors, and we almost called it a day. We have a small budget cash-wise but some great product sponsors which really helps,” he said. With backing from title sponsors Muc-Off and Storck, and the continued support of Signature Payment, the team has pieced together a calendar that balances domestic priorities with an eye on international opportunities.

The 2025 race programme will see the team compete in UK National A and B races, the National Circuit Series, select French Elite events, UCI 1.2 and 2.2 races, and a racing block in the USA. While road racing remains the primary focus, gravel remains part of the plan too. “Our priority will be road racing,” Ellis explained, “but everyone is getting a gravel bike so they can still choose to enter some gravel.”
Key to navigating this demanding programme is the addition of Directeur Sportif Phill Maddocks, who has been quietly involved with the team for the past two years, and now steps into an official role. Known for his work with Loughborough Performance Coaching and his experience organising racing blocks in France, Maddocks brings valuable expertise. “Phill’s been helping out a bit for the past two years anyway,” said Ellis. “He just wanted to help grow the team, and his experience of taking riders to France will help a lot as well. It also helps me spread the workload as I’m so busy sorting logistics, etc.”
The team’s roster sees some notable changes. Departures include Joe Beckingsale, Benjamin Bright (to ASPTT Nancy), Josh Price and Matt Ellis, though the latter remains involved with the team, supporting social media and dabbling in gravel racing alongside his new career after completing his master’s degree. Meanwhile, several exciting new riders join the squad. Edward Morgan (Spectra Racing), Alex Beldon (TRINITY Racing), Adam Howell (VC Meudon), and Conor White (Bermuda) are all set to bolster the team’s ambitions in 2025.
Morgan arrives with a solid record of domestic results, including a victory at the BUCS Road Race Championships. Beldon, a talented time-trialist and stage racer, brings experience from the now-defunct UCI Continental team TRINITY Racing, where he competed in events like the Chrono des Nations U23 and the Tour of Britain. Howell, fresh from several top-ten finishes in National B races, provides further strength to the team’s younger ranks. White, a Bermudian time-trial specialist, adds international flair with his successes at the Caribbean Time Trial Championships and a bronze medal in the Pan American Games time trial.

The team retains its core, including Scott Redding, the British motorsport racer who founded the team and continues to play an active role as both owner and rider. Jake Jackson also remains with the squad, as does Will Truelove, one of the standout performers in 2024. Truelove’s second-place finishes at the Beaumont Trophy and Yorkshire Under-23 Classic underline his importance to the team’s ambitions.
The team will aim to build on its successes in 2024, which included Tom Williams’s victories at the Ryedale Grasscrete Grand Prix and Yorkshire Under-23 Classic. Despite limited resources, with a broader calendar, a bolstered roster, and an eye on both road and gravel opportunities, Muc-Off-SRCT-Storck is poised to make its mark in 2025.
