Handsling joins Alba Development Road Team as title sponsor for 2025

Bike brand Handsling joins the Alba Development Road Team as title sponsor

The Alba Development Road Team has secured Handsling as its new title sponsor for the 2025 season, rebranding as the Handsling Alba Development Road Team. The Scottish-based UCI Continental squad is aiming for another landmark year, following a stellar 2024 season that included a double victory in the British National Road and Circuit Series and impressive results in European races such as the Tour de Feminin and Tour de l’Ardèche.

The team says its 2025 plans feature an expanded race calendar with 40-50 days of competition across Europe, including UCI .2, .1, .Pro, and WorldTour events. This approach aims to optimise rider development while continuing to support elite racing in the UK. The team emphasises it remains committed to domestic events and seeks to continue be a strong presence in the UK race scene.

The 11-rider roster – announced earlier this winter – blends experience and emerging talent, including Olympic and World Champion Neah Evans, alongside promising U23 riders Maddie Leach, El King, and Mari Porton. Returning riders such as Lauren Dickson, Beth Morrow, and Keira Bond bring continuity to the team’s core.

Eilidh Shaw was the standard bearer for the team in 2024, making history with a double victory in the National Road Series and National Circuit Series. Her performances not only set a benchmark for the team’s ambitions but also earned her recognition as The British Continental’s Domestic Rider of the Year. Shaw’s achievements secured her a contract with the UAE Development Team, underlining Alba’s effectiveness in providing a platform for riders to reach the professional ranks.

Handsling’s title sponsorship of Alba builds on its growing involvement in domestic cycling. The bike manufacturer previously co-sponsored what was then the DAS-Handsling team, now rebranded as DAS-Hutchinson for the 2025 season. Handsling also provided bikes to both Alba and DAS in 2024.
