Stolen Goat Race Team Unveils 2025 Squad: New Signings and Fresh Ambitions

The Stolen Goat Race Team announces its 2025 roster with new talent, including Jack Bartholomew, amidst key rider departures

The Stolen Goat Race Team has revealed its squad for the 2025 season. The Hampshire-based team, founded in 2013 and currently supported by cycling clothing brand Stolen Goat, enters the new season with a mix of fresh talent and established riders. Following an impressive 2024 campaign, which saw the men’s squad notch several National B road race victories, the team is set for some significant changes and new challenges.

The off-season has seen some notable departures, with standout rider Gabe Dellar, who secured four National B road race wins this year, moving on to the bolstered Primera-TeamJobs setup. Another key member, Ollie Hurdle, will step away from racing to pursue a new career as a doctor. Both riders leave big shoes to fill, but the team has already lined up some exciting new signings to take on the mantle.

Incoming riders include Jack Bartholomew (Eastbourne Rovers CC), Stephen Bradbury (unattached), Ben Goodwin (Fibrax Fenwick’s Wrexham Cycling Club), and Daniel Piercy (unattached), while the squad has also re-signed Ross Fawcett, Thomas Heal, and Callum Slade.

Among the new recruits, Jack Bartholomew stands out with a unique background. A successful motorsport athlete, he has competed at the highest levels with Aston Martin, Porsche, and Lamborghini in GT racing. His transition to cycling has been remarkably swift, with a podium finish in only his third race. Bartholomew will initially join the Stolen Goat Race Club to develop his skills and aim for a 2nd Cat licence, after which he will be promoted to the main team.

Stephen Bradbury returns to the team, bringing a wealth of experience from his time at UCI Continental outfits such as SwiftCarbon Pro Cycling, Vitus Pro Cycling, and Saint Piran. With an extensive background in road racing and the six-day track circuit, Bradbury is expected to play a key mentoring role for the younger riders, guiding them through the rigours of circuit, track, and road racing.

Ben Goodwin, known for his time trial prowess, joins the team following a strong showing in 2024, which included a top-five finish at the National 24-hour time trial and 6th place in the Welsh Road Race Championships. His endurance skills are expected to add a new dimension to the squad’s racing capabilities. Daniel Piercy, who spent last season riding as an independent, impressed with multiple top-ten finishes, including a 5th place at the Plymouth Corinthian Summer Road Race.

The team’s ambitions for 2025 are clear: a focus on National B races, with selected National A events also on the radar. The squad will continue to target iconic races like the Rutland-Melton CiCLE Classic, while expanding its horizons with more UCI races in Belgium and Northern France. Simon Jodrell will continue to oversee the team alongside coach Tom Kirk and assistant manager Jo Bates, who will guide the riders through the upcoming season’s diverse calendar.

The women’s squad remains unchanged, with Lauren O’Brien, Olivia French, and Melissa Denman all set to continue. Their presence ensures the team will have a well-rounded representation across both men’s and women’s racing throughout the season.
