Le Col Race Team’s Toby Langstone made the early move of the race, going solo on at the end of the first lap of eight. James Ambrose-Parish (TAAP Kalas) and Chris Eibich (GFTL) bridged across to Langstone on the second lap, unchallenged by the compact peloton, to make it a trio.
Three then became six as Danylo Riwnyj (trainSharp Orro Elite), Tobias Bartlett (HUUB BCC Race Team) and Gary Freeman (DAP Cycling Club) also made it across. The six combined well and had a lead of 1 minute 40 seconds by the halfway mark.
Langstone punctured out of the move on the following lap, while behind, his teammate Monte Guerrini was attempting to bridge across with Clay Davies (Ride Revolution Coaching) and Aaron Freeman (London Dynamo).
Guerrini and co. made the catch on lap 7, and then with half a lap to go the attacks began. Guerrini and Davies stole a march on the others, Ambrose-Parish and Riwnyj a few seconds back.
Ambrose-Parish chased the lead pair down on the hill into the final rise, using the speed he was carrying to pass them both just 100m from the line to take the win. Davies was second, with Guerrini third.
James Ambrose-Parish (TAAP Kalas) took his second National B road race victory of the season at the DAP CC Spring Road Race.
