Riders to watch
While most of the top domestic riders will be in Rutland, there are nonetheless a few eye-catching names gunning for a win in Essex. Monte Guerrini (Le Col RT) impressed in the early season with 11th at the Portsdown Classic and then third at the Royal Navy Cup. This race should suit him. Likewise, James Ambrose-Parish (TAAP Kalas) who was 9th in a savage edition of the Jock Wadley earlier this year,
Clay Davies (Ride Revolution Coaching) and Conor McGoldrick (Richardsons Trek DAS) would normally be favourites but they are also on the provisional startlist for the CiCLE Classic so might not race here. New Richardsons Trek DAS signing Michael Gill has a strong engine but little in the way of road race form so far this year.
