The vacant 12 July slot on the 2026 National Road Series calendar now has its answer. Lancaster returns after a one-year funding pause, strengthening a compressed elite season and laying groundwork for the region’s hosting of the 2027 Tour de France.
The 2026 Women’s CiCLE Classic will retain its traditional distance but feature an expanded late-race off-road sequence, with both the women’s and junior events tackling Stapleford Park twice in the closing phase.
A new name and a new course for the South West’s National Road Series round, as South Molton replaces Witheridge with a Pannier Market start, longer distances and a more demanding route – addressing concerns over race length and delivering a more competitive mid-summer test in the 2026 Lloyds National Road Series.
