Muc-Off – SRCT – Storck: Domestic Team of the Year

A small team, a tiny budget, a season of giants: Muc-Off–SRCT–Storck bow out as Domestic Team of the Year.

Some teams dominate through scale. Muc-Off–SRCT–Storck dominated through clarity of purpose.

With a budget of roughly £8,000 and a roster of just seven riders, the team produced one of the most complete seasons in recent domestic racing: sweeping both the individual and team classifications in the National Road Series and occupying the top four positions in The British Continental national road-race rankings. No UK squad extracted more from less.

Yet for team manager Adam Ellis, the story of their year goes far deeper than podiums.

“I knew we had a small but seriously competitive team after the Peaks Two-Day, and from that point on the results kept coming,” he tells The British Continental. “But for me, it was never just about the results – it was the team spirit, the Scott Redding Racing spirit of never giving in, and how everyone worked together toward the same goal. Debriefs were tough at times, even after wins, but it was always about learning and going again.”

That spirit carried them through a season that blended domestic authority with international ambition. “The two racing blocks in France were a real highlight – taking the race to the best teams over there is always special,” Ellis says. One moment stood above the rest: “Alex Beldon’s ride at the National Championships will always stand out.” And as for the rider who defined their dependability? “Mr Consistent was without doubt Will Truelove, who has been the backbone of the team for a number of years now.”

Their nomination — and now their award — comes with a bittersweet edge. In November, the team confirmed that despite their results, profile and development record, the financial support simply wasn’t there to continue. 2025 will be their final season.

Ellis is reflective but proud:

“I’d like to thank everyone who has been part of the team and staff over the past few years for their support in making the team what it has become. I’d also like to thank The British Continental for their continued support of the sport – without them, the UK racing scene would be a much poorer place. It’s sad not to be on the start line in 2026, but who knows – we may be back in 2027 with fresh ideas and new energy.”

Muc-Off–SRCT–Storck were efficient, ambitious and united — a reminder of what is possible even in the tightest financial landscape. Their Domestic Team of the Year title honours not only a dominant season, but a model of how to build opportunity, nurture talent and elevate the sport from the ground up.

Muc-Off–SRCT–Storck are your 2025 Domestic Team of the Year.

Hat tip: DAS–Hutchinson and Wheelbase CabTech Castelli also delivered outstanding seasons and were strong contenders in one of the most competitive categories of this year’s awards.
