Pronto Bikes launches new National Race Team for 2026 with U23 focus

A new U23-focused project from Pronto Bikes brings together first-year seniors, experienced mentors and a mixed domestic–European race calendar, aiming to create a clearer pathway between the British scene and the demands of international racing.

Pronto Bikes has announced the creation of a new National Race Team for 2026, introducing a development-orientated structure designed to support young riders moving into senior racing. According to the team’s press release, the project is intended to act as a “stepping-stone between the domestic scene and the international stage”, with a particular emphasis on guiding U23 athletes.

The roster is built around first-year seniors Jack Baldie, Charlie Hoy and Angus Collard, alongside second-year U23 Tommy Stroud. They are joined by a senior group including Luke Barfoot, whose overall victory at Totnes-Vire and steady early-season results in 2025 make him a notable addition for a squad aiming to provide stability for its younger riders.

The team confirmed to The British Continental that its race programme will span National A road races, National A criteriums, National B events, and selected trips to Belgium and France. The press release frames these European forays as key to giving riders “the exposure, intensity, and experience necessary” for long-term progression.

Pronto’s new structure is supported by several industry partners, including Pronto Bikes, Pinarello, Saddleback Limited, and Extra UK, among others.

Team manager Justin Hoy, a former elite racer who previously rode for NFTO, said in the press release that the project is intended to create a clearer pathway for young British riders:

“Our aim is simple: give young British riders the platform, structure and international exposure they need to make meaningful progress. We’re building a pathway – not just a team.”

Pronto also confirmed that its long-running multi-discipline “local team” – covering road, gravel, MTB and time trials – will continue unchanged into 2026.
