Prologue Junior Racing Team announces 2025 lineup with fresh faces and seasoned talent
Prologue Junior Racing Team has announced its lineup for 2025, combining seasoned riders and newcomers to enhance competitive success domestically and in Europe.
As they prepare for their third season, Yorkshire-based Prologue Junior Racing Team has revealed an expanded lineup for 2025, blending fresh talent with experienced riders and setting its sights on both domestic and European success. Guided by manager Glen Turnbull, the team, founded in 2023, has already established itself as a presence on the UK and European junior cycling scenes. With a series of standout results in 2024, including a 2nd place at the National Road Race Championship and a stage win at Bizkaiko Itzulia, Prologue is building a reputation as a junior development squad capable of competing among the continent’s best.
Reflecting on the past season, Turnbull points to Prologue’s participation in prestigious junior UCI races across six countries, made possible by a mix of sponsorship and Rayner Foundation support through the Gateway Scheme. These resources have allowed the squad to regularly test itself on European stages, giving riders a firsthand look at the demands and intensity of international competition.

2025 Line-Up: Familiar Faces and New Talent
For the 2025 season, Prologue’s roster features a mix of first- and second-year juniors, with returning riders Dan Kemp, James Ingham, and James Beagley joined by second-year Louis Herring and first-year recruits Zack Lowe and Mark Ketteringham.
Among the returning riders, James Ingham stands out after joining Prologue mid-season in 2024 from Green Jersey Cycling and making an immediate impact, placing 14th in GC and 4th in the White Jersey competition at Switzerland’s Grand Prix Rüebliland. James Beagley, meanwhile, showed promise at the Isle of Man Junior Tour with a 4th place overall and followed that up with an ambitious solo attack at the Bath RC Junior Road Race, holding off the peloton until 200 metres from the line. Dan Kemp, a steady presence in the Junior Open National Road Series, endured a season of ups and downs punctuated by mechanical issues but returns this year with renewed motivation.
“This year has been a whirlwind of opportunities across Europe and the UK,” says Kemp. “Results-wise, it’s been up and down, but I come away having learned a lot. I’m feeling fitter and stronger already—just hoping for some luck this season.”
Newcomers: Fresh Faces with High Hopes
The new signings for 2025 bring diverse strengths to Prologue’s roster. Second-year junior Louis Herring, who reached the finals of the Red Bull Junior Brothers Competition, joins the squad with a climbing pedigree well-suited to Prologue’s European ambitions. First-year juniors Zack Lowe and Mark Ketteringham add further depth; Lowe, with a background as an all-rounder from Clifton CC, brings a solid road and track foundation, while Ketteringham, a climber from Harrogate CC, is eager to test his skills at UCI level.
“It’s a strong squad with an exciting race programme,” says Lowe. “I’m looking forward to getting into the European scene, especially the multi-day races.” Ketteringham adds, “Being given the opportunity to race UCI events and UK Nationals is something I’m really excited about. Prologue offers the support I need to grow in junior racing.”

Looking Back on 2024
Prologue’s second season saw notable performances across both UK and European events. Nathan Smith’s 2nd place at the National Championships and stage win at Bizkaiko Itzulia marked high points, along with the Green Sprinters jersey. Joe Turnbull, who took third at the UCI Grand Prix Plouay, now moves on to race with Sima Cepial’s U23 squad in Spain. “The European races gave me the exposure I needed,” says Turnbull of his time with Prologue, “and it’s opened the door to move up to a Spanish U23 team.”
Looking to 2025, Prologue’s lineup appears well-prepared for the demands of a full calendar of UK and UCI races. Balancing experienced riders with newcomers, the team’s mix offers a foundation for both immediate results and long-term development. For Turnbull and his riders, the coming season is a continuation of their commitment to providing juniors with pathways to higher-level racing and to leaving a mark wherever they compete.
