The content on here doesn’t happen by itself. We’re very grateful for the support of our title sponsor Rapha, and our two partner sponsors Hunt and Dolan. Continental tyres kindly sponsor our podcast too. Here is a little more about the companies that help keep our wheels turning.
Rapha – title sponsor. Rapha has long been part of our cycling wardrobe. Aesthetically cool, high quality, a joy to adorn. Rapha’s support for domestic road racing goes way back. It was in 2008, together with Condor Cycles, that they formed one of the most-cherished domestic race teams of all time: Rapha Condor.
In more recent times, of course, Rapha is well-known for its support of the EF Pro Cycling WorldTour team, but it also backs a number of domestic teams: Brother UK–LDN, Crimson Orientation Marketing RT, Richardsons–Trek and TEKKERZ CC all don Rapha Custom clothing.
Rapha’s support for the domestic scene goes way beyond team sponsorship, however. It has organised and supported races including the London Nocturne, the Rapha Super Cross Series and the Rapha Cycling Club Road Race, to name but a few. The Rapha Foundation has provided critical support to UK institutions such as the Herne Hill Velodrome, the Rayner Foundation, the Helen 100 foundation and The Cyclist’s Alliance, amongst others. Critically, Rapha also threw a lifeline to the Lincoln Grand Prix when it stepped in to save Britain’s most important one day race. Rapha now intends to use the learning from its road map to help create a more sustainable future for the race.
Hunt – partner sponsor. The British-based firm produces some of the best-designed wheelsets around. We say that not because we feel obliged to, but as people who have owned and ridden their wheels for years.
As people who love to race bikes themselves, they are also passionate about supporting the domestic sport. They have supported the WiV SunGod team for six seasons now and also sponsor the Bianchi HUNT Morvélo team as well as individual riders like Gosse van der Meer.
Dolan Bikes – partner sponsor.
Dolan is a brand synomous with British bike racing excellence. Ever since we fell madly in love with domestic bike racing here at The British Continental, Liverpool-based frame builder Terry Dolan was a name we were familiar with; we’ve heard many a story of Terry providing invaluable in-kind support to domestic cyclists when they needed it most. And many recent greats have ridden to success on Terry’s bikes, including Sir Bradley Wiggins, Katie Archibald and Mark Cavendish.
Today, Dolan continues to support the domestic scene, not least through the sponsorship of the Dolan Ellesse and Wales Racing Academy squads.
Continental – title sponsor of our podcast. The market-leading German tyre brand with a broad range of tyres for many cycling disciplines. Check out Continental’s BlackChili compound, handmade in Germany and applied to tyres such as GP5000, Gatorskin, Mountain King & CONTACT Plus.
Ridden by some of the world’s best cyclists across all disciplines including Danny MacAskill, Sam Pilgrim, Alistair & Jonny Brownlee, Chris Froome & Geraint Thomas.
VeloSkin – support. VeloSkin produces a skincare range that’s strong enough to cope with whatever is thrown your way, but gentle enough to be used every day. Their chamois cream, soothing gel, shave cream and post-shave lotion are all made using natural products and are designed for and tested by cyclists. In 2020 they sponsored the Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling team and in 2021 they will also support Canyon dhb SunGod.
We’ve teamed up with them to offer you 10% off all orders made through their website. All you need to do is head to veloskin.cc and use the code TBC-10, which will give you a 10% discount on your first and future orders. And better still, every order made using the code will support The British Continental too.
